The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte highlighted the adoption of the Lima Roadmap as a key milestone, reinforcing Peru's commitment to transitioning towards a formal and global economy.

"One of the main achievements of our APEC Presidency has been restoring consensus after two years where it could not be reached. This consensus enabled the adoption of the Lima Roadmap for transitioning to a formal and global economy, which we consider the most significant deliverable of the APEC 2024 process," Mrs. Boluarte expressed.

The Head of State's message, delivered during the conference following the APEC Economic Leaders' session this past weekend, was reiterated by Peru's Presidential Office through its social media platforms.

Foreign Affairs Minister Elmer Schialer emphasized that Peru introduced the topic of transitioning from informality to formality into APEC's permanent agenda, which will be developed within the country as a state policy.

Furthermore, he highlighted that this topic was addressed during the APEC 2024 forum, which successfully concluded in Lima on November 16.

Peru hosted APEC for the third time after the 2008 and 2016 editions.
