Prime Minister Gustavo Adrianzen highlighted the growth of trade and formal employment in Peru.

Through his social media channels, the Cabinet chief noted that these developments are clear signs of the country's economic recovery.

Regarding trade, Adrianzen reported a 3.45% growth in September.

"The commercial activity in that month was driven by wholesale sales of food, fuel, and machinery, while in the retail sector, growth was led by sales in supermarkets, pharmacies, and department stores," he wrote.

The National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI) reported that this indicator reached 3.45% in the referenced month, following a 2.86% level in August relative to Gross Domestic Product.

Formal Employment

Regarding employment, Adrianzen highlighted a recovery in formal employment during September of this year.

"Formal jobs grew by 4% compared to September 2023," the Prime Minister stated, citing figures from INEI.

In this regard, the high-ranking official noted that 231,000 new formal jobs were added during the mentioned month.

Previously, formal employment growth was recorded at 2.2% last August.
