The Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has urged fellow citizens in Florida, United States, to follow the instructions of local authorities in response to the passage of Hurricane Milton through the southeastern State.

Likewise, the government agency shared the emergency contact for its Consulate General in Miami, so that Peruvians can communicate with it in case of emergency:

Phone: +1 305 815 2143

"In light of the passage of Hurricane Milton through Florida, United States, our compatriots in that State are urged to follow the safety instructions from local authorities," the Peruvian ministry expressed on the X platform on Tuesday afternoon.

The U.S. National Hurricane Center (NHC) reported that Milton has once again become a Category 5 hurricane on its way to Florida's west coast, where it is expected to make landfall this Wednesday evening.

The NHC warned that Florida residents must prepare at home and evacuate if local authorities indicate to do so.
