Official Gazette El Peruano remains among the country's most trusted media outlets

For the fifth consecutive year, the Official Gazette El Peruano ranks among the most trusted media outlets in Peru and maintains second place in trust score, according to the 2025 Digital News Report by the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism.

In the chapter dedicated to Peru, the 2025 report highlights that
"trust in the news (40%) is up by 5 points this year, perhaps linked to journalists' role in bringing recent controversies to light."

In this context, the Reuters Institute points out that long-established brands, "such as the largest broadcast network RPP Noticias and historic newspaper El Peruano, are trusted by over 50% of our respondents."

This year, El Peruano achieved a positive trust score of 59%, similar to that of 2024, just one step behind RPP Noticias, which maintained last year's level (63%) as well.

The overall level of trust in news in Peru reached 40% this year, five percentage points higher than in 2024 (35%).

Furthermore, the report notes that "traditional news sources such as TV and print continue to decline in weekly use, while social media news use (64%) is high by international standards."

The level of trust in the Official Gazette El Peruano is higher than that of other media outlets, such as El Comercio (57%), Canal N (55%), Latina Noticias (55%), Exitosa (54%), and Gestion (53%), among others.
