The
President of the Republic, Dina Boluarte, on Thursday stated that the government’s public works speak truthfully and said that by the end of her term on July 28, 2026, she will leave the path laid out so that Peru does not stop and so that various social programs reach those citizens most in need.
During the signing of agreements with local governments for regular investment projects under the Llamkasun Peru program, she indicated that the budget for this program will continue being increased, which will allow for the creation of new jobs in the country.
"We will lay out the path so that Peru does not stop, so that it continues moving forward in its development, so that Llamkasun Peru keeps growing, so that Beca 18 (scholarship program) keeps growing, so that there are more roads, bridges, warm little houses," she expressed.
During the agreement signing ceremony for the Llamkasun Peru program, the Head of State said that public works will speak truthfully about her government, like this program, which will generate over 100,000 temporary jobs, through an Initial Institutional Budget of S/414 million (US$112 million) to finance more than 1,800 interventions.
"A major step forward in the goal of improving the quality of life for our fellow citizens; this is how we speak —through numbers, through figures. There is more employment, more development, inflation is stable, there is economic growth; we are the most trusted country in the region and in the world," she stated.
Likewise, the president called for continued unity in work, because that is what Peru needs: one mindset of love for the homeland, one heart to meet the needs of citizens, and one joint effort to build the country's development.
In this context, Mrs. Boluarte noted that Llamkasun Peru is delivering results and will continue to have her support because it allows single mothers to earn an income to care for their children, and provides jobs to people with disabilities, the elderly, and youth.
"This time, we are prioritizing 144 districts, where we will generate more than 6,500 temporary jobs thanks to an investment of S/99 million (about US$26 million), which will finance intervention projects that require immediate labor," she stated.
The president specified that her government works with a multidimensional approach to the country's needs, with simplicity, with honesty, and with drive, because that way, everyone wins.
In this regard, she urged the mayors who will receive transfers to generate temporary employment under this program to execute their work with transparency.
"Dear mayors, the transfer we will provide you from Llamkasun Peru must be clear and reach every one of your citizens, your fellow countrymen who most need work; from the Executive (Branch), with our Minister of Labor and the Minister of Economy, we will continue boosting more Llamkasun for 2025," she stated.
The top official specified that for next year her administration will allocate a budget so that this program benefits many more families.
