Peru shone at int'l mathematical competition in Romania

Peru grabbed silver medal and received three honorable mentions at the 10th Romanian Master of Mathematics (RMM 2018) held in Bucharest on February 21-26.

The national delegation was composed of students: Diego Enrique Lazaro Cusihuaman (silver), as well as Daniel Marcelo Benavides Quispialaya, Renzo Rodrigo Balcazar Tapia, and Antonhy Dante Yataco Torres (honorable mentions).

"I'm very happy for this silver medal, which means a lot to us, as we competed against the best students from countries that played an excellent role at the Mathematics Olympics," Lazaro said.

About

The 10th Romanian Master of Mathematics is a high-level competition that gathers students from 20 countries which delivered outstanding performances at the International Mathematical Olympiad.

The participating nations include world powers such as the United States, China, Russia, Italy, and Great Britain.

It must be noted the Inca country grabbed two silver and two bronze medals in this tournament's 2016 edition.

Also, the country received two bronze medals and an honorable mention last year.
