Peru Prosecutors raid house of ex-Lima Mayor Castañeda

12:20 | Lima, Oct. 15.

Peruvian Prosecutors of the Lava Jato Case Special Prosecution Group—led by Milagros Salazar— raided on Tuesday the house of former Lima Mayor Luis Castañeda.

The raid —located in Surco district— was authorized by Judge Jorge Luis Chavez of the Judiciary's First Preparatory Investigation Court for Corruption Offenses Committed by Public Officials.

Members of the National Police's High Complexity Investigations Division (Diviac) participated in the operation.

Likewise, another raid took place at the Rector's Office of Telesup University, which is linked to Jose Luna, former secretary of Solidaridad Nacional —the party founded by Castañeda.

According to RPP and El Comercio media outlets, in addition to these buildings, similar operations are carried out at eight additional properties linked to people under investigation for money laundering, illicit association to commit crimes, collusion, incompatible negotiation, influence peddling, among other offenses against the State.

The raided properties are owned by Luis Castañeda, Jose Luna, Lucy Giselle Zegarra, Jorge Luis Zegarra, Alfieri Bruno Lucchetti, Julio Victor Torres, Jaime Villafuerte, Jose David Quispe, and Telesup University.
