on Wednesday announced that he has accepted the resignation of Guido Bellido as Prime Minister of Peru.
"I inform the country that today we have accepted the resignation of the President of the Council of Ministers, Guido Bellido Ugarte, whom I thank for the services rendered to the Nation. In addition, I announce that the swearing-in ceremony of the new Cabinet will take place today at 8 p.m.," the President stated.
In this regard, the Head of State called for the broadest possible unity of political, economic, and social sectors in the country to achieve common objectives together.
In his message, President Castillo underscored that the balance of powers is the bridge between the Rule of Law and democracy, adding that tranquility and cohesion must be ensured in the Government.
"Then, both the confidence motion and the censure should not be used to create political instability. Peruvians expect a lot from their authorities. It is the time to put Peru above any ideology or isolated partisan stand," he said.
The Peruvian leader underlined that he has been working hard to meet all the commitments made to the population.
"As we announced in the overseas trip, we confirm the commitment of Peru to private investment, stressing the need for it to operate without corruption and with social responsibility, prioritizing the national productive diversification," he said in his Address to the Nation.
Mr. Castillo indicated that the current Government is committed to addressing —as a priority— the major problems of the country such as health, hunger, and poverty, which is why he resolved to make decisions in favor of governance.
