Peruvian Interior Ministry's Special Project for Control and Reduction of Illegal Crops in Alto Huallaga (CORAH) eradicated 18,120.98 hectares of illegal coca plantations between February 1 and August 13, 2018.

In this sense, CORAH agents eradicated 6,957.40 ha in Oxapampa (Pasco), 6,900.30 ha in Tocache (San Martin), 2,807.23 ha in Puerto Inca (Huanuco), and 1,456.05 ha in Padre Abad (Ucayali).

Furthermore, the institution reported the destruction of 48 clandestine cocaine laboratories in Oxapampa (32), Puerto Inca (10), Padre Abad (4), and Tocache (2).

Likewise, 8,802 square meters of seedlings were destroyed, thus avoiding the cultivation of illegal coca.

It must be noted these operations were conducted within the framework of the 2018 Annual Plan for Reduction of Illegal Coca Growing Area —under the National Strategy to Fight Drugs 2017-2021.

Such raids are supported by Peru's National Police (PNP), National Anti-Drug Agency (Dirandro), as well as Police Aviation Department.
