With the mobilization of national resources and foreign donations, hospitals run by the Ministry of Health (Minsa) will have 456 intensive care units (ICUs) in the next two weeks in order to accommodate
coronavirus (COVID-19) patients, the sector head Victor Zamora has announced.
These ICUs will be equipped with mechanical respirators required by those who are seriously ill and need them to overcome the critical phase of the disease caused by the coronavirus.
"Through purchases and donations, new mechanical ventilation units will be added, making up a total of 456 intensive care units ready to meet the demand," he expressed.

For example, the cabinet member affirmed that the 394 Peruvians who have already been discharged and complied with the isolation in their homes —respecting Minsa instructions to prevent other members of the community from contracting the virus— are also heroes for health.

Given the restrictions that have been put in place, we are running out of blood donations. So, when shopping, go to the authorized (blood donation) centers, but respecting the distance. 37 people came today, and we thank them because everyone can become heroes for health," he stated.
