13:49 | Lima, feb. 19.

Foreign Trade and Tourism Minister Edgar Vasquez said that the Government of Peru respects the separation of powers and refrains from negotiating with corruption.

Via Twitter, he supported the message on fight against corruption issued by President Martin Vizcarra Tuesday in an interview with a local news station.

"This Government respects the separation of powers and does not negotiate with corruption. We defend the interests of the State with all the force of reason and in accordance with the laws. And all ministers share this firm conviction with President Vizcarra," the Mincetur head stated.

"We have seen a series of attacks against the Government trying to weaken us, but that will be impossible, the fight against corruption is the basis of the Government, that is its strength, and we have the people's support on that matter," he said in statements to RPP radio and TV station.
