During the gathering with Cormann, Foreign Affairs Minister Schialer will discuss Peru's active participation in the OECD Ministerial Council Meeting (MCM 2025) in June of this year, chaired by Costa Rica.
It will be an opportunity to reaffirm, at the highest level, our nation's commitment to its OECD accession process and to strengthen ties with various key stakeholders in this endeavor.
Likewise, at the meeting with Volker Türk (OHCHR), the Foreign Affairs Minister will express our country's concern regarding the situation of Peruvians arbitrarily detained by the Venezuelan authorities.
Furthermore, he will reiterate the request for support to verify detention and health conditions of the aforementioned fellow citizens, advocate for their rights, and, if necessary, carry out their search and location.
Within this framework, the Cabinet member will also reaffirm Peru's commitment to the promotion and protection of human rights and, in particular, to the United Nations System and its special procedure bodies.
Minister Schialer's participation will position Peru as an active nation in the search for solutions to common global problems, foster new forms of collaboration with various stakeholders, as well as promote new investment opportunities to achieve inclusive and sustainable growth.
