Peru has established diplomatic relations with the Republic of Djibouti through a joint statement, signed in New York, United States, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.
According to the agreement, the two countries will be able to build a common cooperation agenda, both bilaterally and multilaterally.
The document was signed by Ambassadors Gustavo Meza-Cuadra and Mohamed Siad Doualeh, permanent representatives of Peru and Djibouti, respectively, before the United Nations

Djibouti is located in eastern Africa, bordering the Gulf of Aden and the Red Sea, between Eritrea and Somalia. Its total land area is 23,200 square kilometers.
The African nation gained independence from France in 1977, and its two official languages are French and Arabic.
