Lima 2019: Peru's Suarez grabs gold in women's individual Peruvian fronton

Claudia Suarez (PER) on Saturday afternoon claimed the gold medal in women's individual Peruvian fronton at Lima 2019 Pan American Games.

The 51-year-old sportswoman defeated Cuba's Wendy Duran 2-0 (15-4, 15-14), who was awarded silver.

The event took place at Villa Maria del Triunfo Sports Center.

This was Peru's 32nd medal (9th gold) at this year's edition of the largest multi-sport event in the Americas.

So far, the Inca country has claimed 33 medals, including gold including gold (10), silver (7), and bronze (16).
