After completing his successful soccer career at the German Bundesliga defending Werder Bremen, Claudio Pizarro received the affection of many people and institutions such as the Champions League tournament, which used its social media to pay a tribute to the Peruvian striker.

The Champions League posted a photo of the forward lifting the trophy and a video featuring some of his goals in that tournament.

Without a doubt, one of the most remembered was the Champions League, which he won with Bayern Munich in 2013.

Precisely, the league recalled on Wednesday the day in which the Peruvian raised the cup at the legendary Wembley Stadium (England) after defeating Borussia Dortmund.

Bayern Munich beat Borussia Dortmund 2-1 in the 2013 final. Mario Mandzukic (60') opened the score for Pizarro's former team, but Ilkay Gündogan equalized the actions eight minutes later. The championship goal was scored by Arjen Robben in the game's last minute.
