The diplomat added that since last year Peruvian authorities have made numerous visits to the Asian country, such as that of ex-Foreign Affairs Minister Javier Gonzalez-Olaechea to attend a cooperation forum and hold meetings with senior officials.
Similarly, the envoy underscored the arrival of Ministers of Environment and of Development-Social Inclusion.
Likewise, he recalled that former Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Ignacio Higueras was in Seoul presiding over the meetings of two consultation mechanisms that South Korea maintains with Peru, which respectively focus on politics and science-technology.
Regarding the culture sector, Ambassador Duclos announced that Lenin Tamayo, a promoter of Q-Pop (K-Pop sung in Quechua language), will visit South Korea in October —as part of a tour that will take him to Vietnam and Thailand as well.
The artist will also participate in the traditional Maskdance Festival in Andong —a sister city with Cusco— in which Peru is the guest of honor this year.
