The Peruvian Government welcomes the call for dialogue issued by the High-Level Group of the Organization of American States (OAS) that recently visited the country, and it is willing to seek the necessary agreements to advance in this process, President Pedro Castillo affirmed on Friday.

"Peruvians are tired of useless struggles that have hurt our homeland and prevented us from focusing on the problems faced by the country, on the great gaps to be closed," Mr. Castillo said during his speech at the presentation ceremony of the Productive Prisons for the World exhibition.

The Head of State said that, following the recent introduction of a presidential impeachment motion against him, he is confident that "the democratic sectors of Congress, as well as the country's social forces, will side with the institutional framework and governability."

"My administration, in line with its democratic vocation, accepts this call and is willing to agree and seek the necessary consensus to move the country forward," he expressed.

In this sense, Mr. Castillo affirmed that "only unity makes us great" in Peru.

"Neither anti-democratic attitudes nor petty and subordinate interests will become successful," he said.
