15:12 | Toronto (Canada), Oct. 29.

Peru's Cusco has been named one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

In this sense, the FlightNetwork has placed the Southern Andean metropolis in the 34th spot of its World's Best Cities Ranking (out of 50).

"You've probably learned about this area in a history class since it was the capital of the Incan Empire until the Spanish conquest. So it's no surprise that it's a World Heritage Site," the articled read.

It went on to add that the two must-see sites there are the Koricancha (the Sun Temple) and San Blas

"San Blas is a nice escape from the touristy parts of the city and has a relaxed vibe for shops, restaurants, and just walking around," it said in this sense.

FlightNetwork also praised the Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu adding that "obviously you're probably not going to visit Peru without checking out Machu Picchu (…)"

It also recommended checking out the Inca Museum and heading over to the Mercado San Pedro (San Pedro Market) "where you can try some typical Peruvian food–Caldo de Gallina being one of the specialties of this city that you must get a cup (or bowl) of!"

The FlightNetwork asked experts —travel writers, bloggers, and agencies— from all around the globe to name the world's best cities.

The list is led by Paris (France), which is followed by New York (US), London (UK), Venice (Italy), and Vancouver (Canada) in the Top 5.
