The Consul General of Peru in Denver, Pedro Pablo Delgado, made a formal visit to the Governor of Colorado, Jared Polis, to discuss the activities that will be held in 2026, on the 200th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Peru and the United States of America.

These activities will serve to strengthen ties between Peru and Colorado, taking into account that the State will also celebrate its 150th anniversary in 2026, coinciding with the 250th anniversary of the United States' independence.

Within the framework of these events, the "America 250-Colorado 150 Commission" has been formed.

Governor Polis affirmed his desire to strengthen ties with Peru. He added that the commemoration of 200 years of diplomatic relations between both nations represents an excellent framework for promoting joint initiatives.

The Peruvian Consul General mentioned that activities to promote tourism, trade, investment, cultural events, and the participation of the Peruvian community were of special interest to Peru.

In this regard, the Governor's Office offered the Colorado State Capitol as a venue to celebrate the national anniversary in 2026 and the 200 years of U.S.-Peruvian diplomatic relations.

The Peruvian consul received the "Flower of Colorado" as a sign of welcome.
