Peru's BCR Governor chairs G-24 meeting

Peru's Central Reserve Bank (BCR) Governor Julio Velarde presided over the meetings of the Intergovernmental Group of Twenty Four on International Monetary Affairs and Development (G-24), which took place in the United States' capital city of Washington D.C. on Thursday.

The top representatives of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group (WBG) participated in the event within the framework of the annual meetings of both international financial institutions. 

In this sense, IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva and WBG President David Malpass presented their forecasts on global economy. 

Likewise, they addressed the risks of the current scenario, characterized by trade tensions, a global economic slowdown, lower Chinese growth, and Brexit. 

Furthermore, the two officials talked about the policy measures undertaken by developed countries in order to face these situations and the impact it has on the economy of emerging nations.
