Peru President: Government willing to work with Congress

11:18 | Mochumi (Lambayeque region), Feb. 18.

Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra on Tuesday affirmed that the Government is 100 percent willing to work hand in hand with Parliament, regions, and provinces in order to achieve the development that the country needs.

The Head of State said that working together would lay the foundations for development so that the Independence Bicentennial comes at a time when the country sticks to a clear path.

"I have no doubt that the new Congress of the Republic will be in place next week for sure. It will join us in this effort to work together for Peru. We are completely willing to work in a coordinated and articulated manner by generating and seeking consensus with the new Congress of the Republic," he stated.

In this way, he said Congress, as well as national, regional and municipal governments, together with farmers and the population will work together doing their best to achieve the development Peru so desperately needs.

Peruvian leader's remarks were made as he inspected the functioning of the water service for the irrigation of Mochumi channel, located in Lambayeque province.

Mr. Vizcarra has undertaken a series of activities in this northern region. Earlier, he supervised rehabilitation works at Lambayeque-Olmos road.

Later, he is expected to monitor the delivery of rehabilitation works of various streets situated in Santa Rosa district (Chiclayo province).
