Prime Minister Vicente Zeballos on Tuesday arrived in Andoas district, Datem del Marañón Province (Loreto region), to supervise a new civic action aimed at attending to native communities hit by COVID-19 and other diseases.

Upon arrival, the official stated that "the dimension of responsibility against the coronavirus leads us to reaching out to the communities in the Amazon with a State that is coming here to stay. This will not be something circumstantial."

"Today, we are here particularly to supervise this civic action, but also to see what your main needs are and what the situation of public services in this area of the country is," he expressed.

Likewise, Zeballos stressed the importance of carrying out joint efforts to confront the pandemic.

Priority

According to Zeballos, the Government values each of the native and indigenous communities and prioritizes health care.

"United is the only way to beat the coronavirus. We articulate (efforts) with the various levels of government to win this war and defeat this invisible enemy," he emphasized.

During his visit to Andoas, the Cabinet head spoke with authorities, citizens, and Apus (chiefs) from the communities.

He also held a meeting with the Apus of Nuevo Andoas, Nuevo Porvenir, Jose Olaya, Antioquia, Andoas Viejo, and Alianza Capahuari, among others.
