Peru: Justice Min heads to Junin to strengthen health response to COVID-19

Justice and Human Rights Minister Ana Neyra on Thursday traveled to Junin to deliver an important load of medical supplies in a bid to strengthen the health response to COVID-19 in said region located in central Peru.

During her visit, Neyra is expected to meet with regional and local authorities, as well as with indigenous organizations.

The government official was joined by Cesar Combina and Carlos Chavarria, legislators representing said region in Congress.

Junin is one of the six regions placed under quarantine along with Arequipa, Ica, Huanuco, Madre de Dios and San Martin.

The region of Junin is made up of 9 provinces: Chanchamayo, Chupaca, Concepcion, Huancayo, Jauja, Junin, Satipo, Tarma and Yauli.

Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra on Wednesday announced that State ministers will increase their trips to regions across the country in order to strengthen coordination with regional and local authorities in the fight against the pandemic.
