Peru: Gov't sends 4 tons of medical supplies to Piura to reinforce COVID-19 response

The Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation (Minagri), in coordination with the Ministry of Health (Minsa), on Thursday sent a batch of medical supplies to the northern city of Piura with the aim of reinforcing the fight against COVID-19 at hospitals and health centers in the region of the same name.


The material is part of the Government's support provided to regions across the country to address the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to Minagri, the shipment included 4 tons of face masks for community use, 20,000 disposable surgical masks, 30,000 units of disposable nurse caps, 1,200 disposable overalls, 1,530 units of propofol and 2,000 N95 type respirators.

The medical material will bolster the tireless work of health professionals taking care of patients.

Thus, the Executive Branch has managed to provide medical supplies to Piura region in order to tackle the current health emergency.

Finally, Minagri reiterated its call for the people of Piura to maintain biosafety measures, such as the use of face masks, social distancing and hand washing, and thus prevent the transmission of this deadly disease.
