Peru: Executive Branch officials hold meeting to support indigenous communities

High-level officials from various ministries met in a session chaired by Prime Minister Walter Martos for the planning of immediate actions to be implemented in the rainforest Loreto region, in response to the population's most urgent needs.

Culture Minister Alejandro Neyra presented the progress made in the implementation of the intervention strategy in indigenous communities within the framework of the health emergency caused by COVID-19.


In the coming days, the sectors will define the specific actions to be implemented and will contact the representatives of communities to guarantee the joint work.

Officials from the Ministries of Health, Development-Social Inclusion, Transport-Communications, Energy-Mines, Environment, and Culture participated in the meeting held on Thursday.
