A total of 168 Peruvian artifacts will be displayed —for almost a year— at three of the most important museums of China, in order to raise awareness of the significant cultural and historical heritage of the Inca country, the Culture Ministry informed Tuesday.
In this sense, the exhibition "Ancient Civilization of the Andes/Enlightening the Origins of the Inca Empire" will be present at the Shanxi Museum —on September 22, 2019-January 5, 2020—, Tianjin Museum —January 17-May 3, 2020—, and Chongqing China Three Gorges —May 15-August 30, 2020.
For that reason, the Culture Ministry authorized —through a Ministerial Resolution— the temporary leave of said artifacts, which belong to diverse Peruvian museums.
43 pieces are hosted by the
National Museum of Archaeology, Anthropology, and History of Peru (MNAAHP). These are part of the Paracas, Moche, Nazca, Viru, Recuay, Wari, Chancay, Lambayeque, Chimu, and Inca Cultures.
Apart from MNAAHP, the other museums participating in the exposition are Sican National Museum, Santiago Uceda Castillo Archaeological Museum, Brüning National Archaeological Museum, and Chavin National Museum, among others.
