A total of 24,799,384 Peruvian nationals are entitled to vote in the upcoming parliamentary elections —scheduled for January 26, 2020— according to the electoral roll approved by the National Election Board (JNE).

The document —prepared and submitted by the National Registry of Identification and Civil Status (RENIEC)— was approved by Resolution Nro. 0190-2019-JNE published Saturday in El Peruano official gazette.

Out of the total eligible voters, 23,825,154 live in Peru and 974,230 reside abroad.

Likewise, 12,881,163 are women, making up 50.36% of the electorate, while 12,311,221 are men (49.64%). A total of 6,937,424 are young people aged between 18 and 30.

The electoral roll is the list of persons who are eligible to vote. RENIEC submitted a preliminary version to JNE on November 6.

Such document had 24,804,140 eligible voters in the electorate, but after an audit, 1,668 cases were observed.

The assessment found that there are currently 24,799,384 eligible voters across the territory.
