President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski's administration is a Government in action that works for equal rights of men and women, Prime Minister Mercedes Araoz pointed out on Thursday.
According to the also Second Vice-President, the Government is very clear about the defense of citizens' rights.
In this regard, Araoz noted today is a special day because "we are talking about the vindication of their rights and equal rights
that men and women enjoy in society."
"We are working [...] for the defense of citizens' rights —particularly those of women
— and for the equality of rights between men and women," she told reporters.
In addition, she highlighted the approval and publication of the Regulations of Law No. 30709, which prohibits remunerative discrimination.
"The State is there to serve the citizens," Araoz concluded.
Remarks were made during a monitoring visit to the Justice Ministry's Center for Free Legal Assistance (ALEGRA).
The government official was joined by Justice Minister Enrique Mendoza.
