Colca Valley's landscapes, customs, and ancestral dances were the attraction at the 33rd UGART Tourism Business Fair, held in Porto Alegre on March 2-3.

State-run Colca Valley Autonomous Authority (Autocolca) participated in this event featuring an information stand.

On this occasion, Autocolca staff exhibited audiovisual material, distributed brochures, souvenirs, tourist maps, and general information about Caylloma province's districts, where Colca Valley is located.

Caylloma Mayor and Autocolca Chairman Romulo Tinta led the delegation that traveled to Porto Alegre to promote this must-visit Peruvian destination.

It must be noted more than 1,000 people visited the stand to request information about said tourist attraction.

"The agencies have been amazed by [Colca Valley's] landscapes, customs, and ancestral dances. We have been the attraction at the UGART Tourism Business Fair," Tinta expressed.

"Travel agencies representatives and the public in general were very interested in Colca Valley," he added.

Peruvian participation in this event also included traditional dances, as well as screenings of videos showing Colca Valley's tourist attractions and customs.

Within this context, Tinta noted Autocolca continues working on the valley's tourism promotion, and that they have been invited to participate in various events this year.

Colca Valley is one of Arequipa region's top attractions.

The area offers numerous tourist services and —besides its natural beauty— visitors come to enjoy the majestic "flight of the condor" —an emblematic Andean bird.

The place is located four hours from Arequipa city, and there is a paved road leading to such natural site.
