FIFA shares largest Peruvian-fan-made flag photo

Banderola en apoyo a la selección peruana

11:18 | Lima, Nov. 8.

The Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) shared a photo depicting the largest national flag crafted by Peruvian fans to support their squad in the next playoff matches against New Zealand.

As is known, the Inca squad seeks to secure a spot in Russia 2018.

The flag is 30 meters long and 98 meters wide, plus it shows the Peruvian coat of arms next to a supporter wearing striker Paolo Guerrero's number 9 jersey.

Via Twitter, FIFA greeted Peru's fans and asked whether the Red White will get past New Zealand to qualify for their first World Cup since 1982.

The first leg of Peru-New Zealand FIFA World Cup intercontinental playoff tie will take place at Wellington's Westpac Stadium on November 11 at 4:15 PM local time.

The return leg will be held at Lima's National Stadium (Peru) on November 15 at 9:15 PM (local time).

Following both clashes, it will be known —finally— if Peruvians return to a World Cup after 35 years.
