Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski and Ecuadorian counterpart Lenin Moreno held a private meeting in northern city of Trujillo on Friday prior to the 11th Peru-Ecuador Binational Cabinet.
Mr. Kuczynski attended the gathering joined by Ministers Mercedes Araoz (Prime) and Ricardo Luna (Foreign Affairs).
On his part, President
Moreno was accompanied by Ecuador's Foreign Affairs Minister Maria Fernanda Espinosa.
Following the audience, the leaders headed to Costa del Sol Hotel to chair the
Binational Cabinet session.
This high-level meeting also features ministers from both nations, among other authorities.
This year's edition covers five main thematic axes: (i) Social and Cultural Affairs; (ii) Production and Trade; (iii) Energy, Mining and Environmental Issues; (iv) Infrastructure and Connectivity; as well as (v) Security and Defense.
It must be noted Binational Cabinets constitute a mechanism for political dialogue between two nations with the purpose of working on specific issues of common concern included in the bilateral agenda.
