10:21 | Quito (Ecuador), Sep. 5.
Peru and Ecuador soccer teams will meet today in a crucial match at World Cup Qualifiers.
Atahualpa Olympic Stadium in Quito (Ecuador), at 2,800m above sea level, will host the game at 16:00 hrs. (local time).
Circumstances make the game a matter of life or death for Peruvians. Plus, "The Tri" has never lost to the Incas in Quito.
Peru's national soccer team coach Ricardo Gareca will make several changes from the side that beat Bolivia 2-1 on Thursday.
According to Gareca's strategic plan, Caceda will be Peru's goalkeeper; defenders include Luis Advincula, Christian Ramos, Alberto Rodríguez and Miguel Trauco.
Jefferson Farfan will be on the bench, while Edison Florez will play as a left winger again. The team also features Andre Carrillo, Christian Cueva, and Paolo Guerrero.
It must be noted a draw would not be a bad result for the Incas, but a death sentence to Ecuador.
Peru now
ranks 6th after having seen 6 victories, 6 losses and 3 draws at the Qualifiers.
Thursday's triumph against Bolivia will not help if Peru does not defeat home-team Ecuador today.
