Peru's Justice and Human Rights Minister Maria Soledad Perez Tello will hold four working meetings with officials of the U.S. Departments of State and Justice during her visit to Washington D.C.
The Justice head will be overseas from June 10 to 15 to attend a World Bank event titled Data and Evidence for Justice Reform (DE JURE).
The aforementioned audiences will address fight against corruption, strengthening of cooperation, and matters of mutual interest within the competence of both governments.
The minister will also meet with
Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) representatives, leading academics, as well as
Cato Institute Executive Vice President David Boaz and other bodies engaged in the dissemination of public policies based on the principles of limited government, free markets, and peace.
Perez Tello's participation in DE JURE will contribute to strengthening relations between Peru and the World Bank.
Also, this is part of her portfolio's efforts to support the World Bank in preparing a new credit transaction to reform Peru's justice sector under the terms agreed at the
National Agreement for Justice.
Judiciary and Public Ministry representatives have also been invited to the event.
Defense Minister Jorge Nieto will take over the Justice and Human Rights portfolio, while Perez Tello is absent.
The document bears signatures of Peru's first Vice-President Martin Vizcarra and Prime Minister Fernando Zavala.
