The Government of Peru has established immediate measures to secure energy supply among Electricity Public Service users across the country.

According to a supreme decree, heavy rains in January and February —expected to continue thru March— threaten human health, public-private property, productive service infrastructures, and basic services, among others.

Electricity supply has been affected as a result of these events and due to the damage caused to existing electricity infrastructure in several parts of the country, resulting in disruptions and affecting Electricity Public Service users.

In this sense, taking necessary immediate actions to guarantee the electricity supply becomes a necessity.

Energy and Mining Investment Regulator (Osinergmin) and System Economic Operation Committee (COES) shall adopt the necessary measures to implement said regulation.
