10:02 | United Nations, Feb. 24.

Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski on Friday morning met with United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres at the international organization's headquarters in New York.

This was the first time Mr. Kuczynski met Portuguese Guterres, who began his term on 1 January 2017.

The Head of State was joined by Peruvian Foreign Affairs Minister Ricardo Luna.

The meeting addressed Peru's entry into the UN Security Council, as it intends to become a non-permanent member of such body, whose mission is to maintain international peace and security.

Likewise, they reviewed the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals, which is consistent with the Government policies.
