A team of British sports infrastructure experts inspected Lima-based San Marcos National University's stadium premises in order to propose necessary improvements as part of preparations for the 2019 Pan American Games.
Experts in sport event overlay Eugene Uys, Maria Canovas and Ana Loreto are part of the UK team in charge of supervising venue infrastructure works towards the said event.
As is known, Peru and the United Kingdom entered into a
government-to-government agreement earlier this year through which the UK committed to providing technical assistance to guarantee the successful delivery of the Games.
The architects were welcomed by university authorities who committed to supporting and facilitating the execution of the said infrastructure works.
Joined by a San Marcos University technical commission and the Lima 2019 Pan American Games Organizing Committee (COPAL), the experts addressed the potential implementation of press areas and more locker rooms for athletes.
The visit included the inspection of facilities like the athletics track and bleachers, among others.
