Peruvian restaurants join French cuisine celebration

13:26 | Lima, Mar. 21.

Three Peruvian eateries join Goût de France/Good France, a celebration of French cuisine that brings together some 3,000 restaurants from 150 countries around the globe.

Chefs from around the world will come together for a meal to celebrate the vitality of French cuisine and unite around the joint values of sharing and pleasure in a planet-friendly and healthy way.

The worldwide initiative will take place tonight, March 21, for the fourth consecutive year.

Organized by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs and chef Alain Ducasse, the event is inspired by Auguste Escoffier, who launched the Epicurian Dinners initiative: the same menu, on the same day, in several world cities, for as many guests as possible.

The "French-style" menu shall include an aperitif, a starter, a main course, a French cheese (or cheeseboard), a dessert, and French champagne.

Alain Ducasse also wanted this year's event to be an opportunity to pay tribute to Paul Bocuse with the participating chefs having the opportunity to include one of Paul Bocuse's dishes or a dish inspired by him in their menus.

Peru will be represented by Lima-based Emile Cafe Bistrot, Wallqa Restaurante and Le Soleil, offering the best dishes prepared by renowned chefs.
