The national soccer team must play with intelligence in order to defeat France at the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia, Peru's defender Miguel Trauco pointed out Monday.
"There is no other option; we must be smart, as well as attentive and well prepared (...) It won't be a surprise if we defeat France," he added.
On the other hand, the 25-year-old player explained how the team felt after having had up to seven goal-scoring opportunities and not being able to turn them into actual goals.
The Peruvian went on to say he does not believe the squad needs to change its approach.
"We must keep playing the same way but pay a little more attention to the details, which make the difference in these tournaments (...)," he remarked.
Trauco is one of the most promising Peruvian athletes. He is currently under contract with Brazil's Flamengo soccer club until 2019.
As is known, the
Peru-France game will be held at Ekaterinburg Arena on June 21 at 8:00 PM (local time).
