Peruvian soccer team manager Antonio Garcia Pye affirmed the Inca squad will play at least one friendly match in Austria as preparation for the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia.
"Before the World Cup [begins], we will be in Austria between late May and early June to play one or two friendlies […]," he told State-run Radio Nacional station.
The manager also noted the friendly matches against
Croatia and Iceland —to be held in the United States— are totally confirmed.
As is known, Peru will face
Croatia on
March 23 in Miami, whereas the game against
Iceland is slated for March 27 in New York.
Likewise, Garcia Pye pointed out the Inca squad is in the search for another European squad to face before traveling to Russia for the mega event.
It must be noted the friendlies are the national team's next steps in their preparation for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
