Peru President oversees reconstruction works in Piura

Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski on Thursday supervised construction works for Venados Bridge in Piura region hit by climate phenomenon months ago.

The area was one of the worst-hit by Coastal El Niño floods and landslides in Jan-Mar 2017.

As is known, works to build the 300-meter flood-proof structure were launched by the Head of State himself last May.

The S/50-million (about US$15.4 million) project will facilitate traffic flow in the area, disrupted by the said disasters earlier this year.

The statesman arrived in the northern region this morning to present the Reconstruction with Changes Plan.

Transport and Communications Minister Bruno Giuffra and Authority for Reconstruction with Changes (RCC) Executive-Director Pablo de la Flor joined Mr. Kuczynski on the occasion.
