Peru President condemns Barcelona van attack

Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski on Thursday expressed strong condemnation of the deadly van attack that left at least 13 dead and more than 50 injured in Barcelona, Spain.

Via Twitter, Peru's top official offered his deepest sympathy to victims' families and the Spanish Government.


At least 13 people were killed and more than 50 wounded when a van rammed through crowds of people in Las Ramblas area in the heart of Barcelona.

The police has arrested two suspects, one of them is Driss Oukabir, a Spanish legal resident originally from the Maghreb region, who is alleged to have rented the vehicle used to ram down civilians.

It must be noted the Islamic State Group has claimed responsibility for the attack, according to AFP.
