Prime Minister Fernando Zavala affirmed Peru-France relations are strong and must keep growing with President Emmanuel Macron's official visit to the Andean nation in September this year.

"Our relationship with France is strong and we hope it will take further root, so much so that it led to a major meeting between Presidents Kuczynski and Macron," he said after a Council of Ministers Session on Wednesday.

Plus, the Cabinet Chief expects Macron will come to the Inca nation this year.

The European leader is expected to pay an official visit to Peru on the occasion of the 130th International Olympic Committee (IOC) Session taking place in Lima on September 13 this year.

Said sporting event will see the election of the host city for the 2024 Olympic Games between candidates: Los Angeles (USA) and Paris (France).
