12:17 | Lima, Jan. 10.

Peru's Prime Minister Mercedes Araoz affirmed the new ministerial cabinet is already working to implement the necessary steps that will bring increased prosperity to the population while fostering national development.

The cabinet's work is key to the reconciliation process led by the Government, so its members will become fully involved in the implementation of public policies that improve Peruvians' quality of life.

"Actually, this cabinet attempts to bring prosperity to the population, change their living conditions and take action," Araoz was quoted as saying.

Today's Council of Ministers session will address priority areas of each sector and, on Thursday, its members will head to northern Peru to inspect reconstruction works in areas ravaged by Coastal El Niño disasters.

According to Araoz, Agriculture Minister Jose Arista will resolve the issue affecting potato producers across the country.

She also emphasized ministers are quite eager to seek out solutions to the population's concerns.
