The Peruvian soccer team has climbed into the top ten of the FIFA World Ranking for the first time in history.
Coached by Argentinean Ricardo Gareca, "Los Incas" rank 10th, following draws against Argentina and Colombia as part of the South American World Cup qualifiers.
In this sense, the red-white squad climbed two spots from last month's list.
According to a
release by FIFA, "Los Incas
are one of five nations celebrating their best-ever Ranking position this month."

Germany remains top of the ranking, followed by Brazil (2nd), Portugal (3rd), Argentina (4th), Belgium (5th), Poland (6th), France (7th), Spain (8th) and Chile (9th).
Peru has surpassed football teams from England (12th), Colombia (13th), Wales (14th), Italy (15th), Uruguay (17th), Croatia (18th), Sweden (25th) and Turkey (33rd), among others.
As is known the national team is going through its best moment after 6 straight games without a loss.
Peru will face New Zealand in an intercontinental playoff next November for a place at the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia.
