Peru's Economy and Finance Minister Claudia Cooper will take part in the Annual Meetings of the Boards of Governors of the World Bank Group (WBG) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), currently underway in Washington D.C. (U.S.).
During the event, economic authorities from around the world will discuss issues of global concern, such as world economic outlook, poverty eradication and economic development.
The meetings will bring together world economy leaders, ministers, central bankers, private sector executives, representatives from civil society organizations and academics, among others.
Cooper will attend forums that, among other things, focus priority on getting the economic fundamentals right, address problems of excessive inequality, and discuss corruption and climate change.
Likewise, Cooper's agenda includes meetings with investors, presentations on the Peruvian economic policy and gatherings with high ranking officials from the World Bank,
IMF and Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).
The cabinet member will also hold meetings with her Pacific Alliance’s counterparts (Chile, Colombia and Mexico) in order to address the progress made in standardizing the tax treatment of the countries agreements to avoid double taxation and the Funds Passport implementation within the bloc.
The event will run thru October 15.
