Peru, Denmark see partial 0-0 draw in first half at World Cup

12:06 | Saransk (Russia), Jun. 16.

Peru and Denmark see a partial 0-0 score in the first half of their debut at the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia.

Peru had some clear chances to score. However, Christian Cueva missed a penalty in the 45th minute.

The clash kicked off at 7:00 PM (local time) at Mordovia Arena in Saransk.

The red-white delegation arrived in said city last Thursday for this important World Cup match.

While in Russia, the squad has held five training sessions with the purpose of giving a great performance at soccer's mega event.

Among the team's stars, strikers Paolo Guerrero and Jefferson Farfan stand out. Guerrero is Peru's all-time top scorer, having made a total of 34 goals wearing the red-white jersey.

It must be noted Peru currently has an unbeaten streak of 15 games. The Incas saw a draw with Sweden (0-0) in a friendly match last week. Previously, they defeated Saudi Arabia (3-0), Scotland (2-0), Iceland (3-1), and Croatia (2-0) in preparatory games.

As is known, Peru managed to qualify for the FIFA World Cup after 36 years
