The Rural Agrarian Productive Development Program (Agro Rural) will have directly benefitted 248,000 families residing in High-Andean rural areas in the period comprised between August 2016 and June 2017.
Agro Rural is an executing unit aimed at promoting rural agrarian development by funding public investment projects in less economically developed rural areas.

Agro Rural will have directly benefited 248,000 families residing in High-Andean rural areas by helping them generate new sources of income in order to improve their quality of life," program Director Alberto Joo Chang affirmed.
Said initiative thus contributes to the reduction of poverty and extreme poverty rates registered in those zones.
"All the families, with whom we work, are based in rural areas and require continuous support to connect with markets [...]," the engineer told El Peruano official newspaper.
Lastly, he noted that most beneficiaries live in Puno, Cajamarca, Apurimac, Piura and Pasco regions.
