on Friday highlighted the signing of the contract for the construction of the Trujillo Teaching Hospital.
Similarly, the top official said that her government will not stop unblocking such projects in order to provide citizens with proper healthcare services.
The Head of State indicated that the future hospital will be the largest and most complex in the northern part of the country.
It will be carried out following a careful international bidding process, within the framework of the State-to-State agreement signed with the United Kingdom.
She added that it will benefit not only La Libertad region inhabitants but also patients from other regions.
Mrs. Boluarte detailed that the Trujillo Teaching Hospital will host 629 inpatient beds, 111 ICU beds, a helipad for emergencies, modern high-complexity equipment, and even specialized technology such as robotic surgery.
The President emphasized that her government has two key pillars, health and education, which will continue to be strengthened until July 28, 2026.
Likewise, she stated that "nothing and no one will distract them" from that task.
"The health of our compatriots cannot wait, which is why we will never stop unblocking hospitals that we found stalled, forgotten by previous governments, whether due to negligence or because they were overcome by that scourge that prevents communities from developing: corruption," Mrs. Boluarte indicated.
The President also thanked the United Kingdom, represented at the event by its Ambassador to Peru, Gavin Cook, for supporting and trusting the government in carrying out this important project in the city of Trujillo.
She added that other significant initiatives, such as the construction of Bicentennial Schools, are underway as well.
In that regard, Mrs. Boluarte stated that foreign countries and investors "bet on a country that generates trust."
"Health is a right, not a privilege, and our government remains steadfast in its goal of providing all Peruvians with the healthcare they have always needed. With investment and responsible management of our economy, which has experienced 16 consecutive months of growth, we are achieving this," she expressed.
Trip to the U.S. highlighted
In this regard, the President noted that, with the firm objective of seeking more development and investment for the country, she will travel in the coming days to New York, United States.
While in the host country, the Head of State will carry out an important work agenda as part of her participation in the 80th session of the United Nations.
"We will position our country as an actor committed to peace and sustainable development, and reaffirm Peru's commitment to the initiative of Secretary-General Antonio Guterres for the reform and modernization of the UN," Mrs. Boluarte stated.
The top official expressed her gratitude for the support of Congress in authorizing her trip abroad from September 21 to 25 to participate in the event.
She said that her sole interest is to place Peru in the global spotlight so that the country can continue to grow economically.
Moreover, the President reaffirmed her commitment to continue working in favor of hospital, healthcare, and educational infrastructure that is stalled or has not been boosted.
The top official stated that her government is delivering a significant number of projects, more than previous administrations, adding that the figures support this.
"The contract signed today reflects an unwavering commitment and is evidence of our strength, which translates into more investment, more jobs, and more opportunities for our sisters and brothers in Peru," she concluded.
