Peru: Government supports exploration in oil blocks Z-61, Z-62, and Z-63

The Ministry of Energy and Mines (Minem) on Wednesday reaffirmed its support for hydrocarbon exploration activities in Blocks Z-61, Z-62, and Z-63, managed by the company Anadarko, with the aim of harnessing oil and natural gas resources to strengthen the country's energy security.

Peru: Machu Picchu communities agree to suspend strike for 72 hours

Communities of Machu Picchu district, in Urubamba province, Cusco region, on Wednesday agreed to suspend the indefinite strike they had been observing for 72 hours and to resume train service on the Ollantaytambo–Machu Picchu Pueblo, or Aguas Calientes, railway.
