A team of space experts from the United States visited Peru from March 18 to 21 to continue exploring possible collaborations with the Peruvian Air Force (FAP) within the framework of the country's aspirations to develop a future spaceport, the Embassy in Lima reported.

In March 2024, the first visit of this dialogue took place, during which initial meetings were held with Peruvian authorities and key sector stakeholders.

These conversations helped establish a solid foundation for cooperation and define the first steps in analyzing the feasibility of the space project.

On this occasion, the study focused on fundamental non-technical aspects to realize this project, including political, social, financial, economic, regulatory, and legal factors that Peru must consider.

As part of this visit, the delegation toured the candidate cities, evaluating options to strengthen cooperation in space development.

The final study of Peru's future spaceport is expected to be completed during the launch of the celebration of the bicentennial of diplomatic relations between both counties, which will take place in May 2025.

This dialogue highlights the United States' leadership in space technology and exemplifies our commitment to driving economic growth and security in our region through bilateral cooperation and the strategic and responsible use of space.
